Fiber Sales Rep Requirements: Application & Onboarding Checklist
Short answer: To apply through KnockFiber, share your sales background, city, name and phone; before starting fieldwork, confirm the partner's onboarding requirements and the territory available to you.

Applying, being accepted by a partner and being ready to work doors are different steps. Use this checklist to prepare for each one. KnockFiber recruits candidates; the partner sales organization makes the placement and onboarding arrangements.
Apply to discuss your market →What the KnockFiber application asks for
The application asks about your sales background, your city, your name and your phone. You can say you have no sales experience, describe prior sales work or indicate that you lead a team. It also asks about your interest in bringing or building a team. There is no resume upload.
- ✓City and state: use the place where you want to work. Include the state when a city name could refer to more than one place.
- ✓Reachable contact: give the name and phone number a recruiter should use to reach you about the opportunity.
- ✓Sales background: choose the answer that describes you today. Applying with no experience is an option; it is not a promise of acceptance.
- ✓Team interest: distinguish people ready to come with you from a team you would like to build later.
You do not need to upload a resume or identity documents to this application. For the full sequence after submitting, read how to become a fiber sales rep.
What to prepare for the recruiter conversation
Bring practical answers about where you can work, how you will reach the territory, whether you have a phone you can use for the work, and your availability. If you have sold before, explain the product, the market and what you actually did. If you are new, say so.
Be ready to discuss the role's basis: these are 1099 independent-contractor, commission-only opportunities. Ask who pays you, what makes an install payable, when payment is due and how cancellations are handled. Individual results vary and no earnings are guaranteed. Do not substitute a recruiter's earnings story for the partner's actual terms.
Use the interview and first-week guide for the conversation itself, and the commission-pay explainer for questions about pay.
What must be confirmed with the partner
The short application is not the partner's full onboarding process. Before agreeing to start, ask for the answers that apply to your program and location:
- Eligibility and paperwork: what age, work-eligibility, identity-verification, screening and contractor-document requirements does this partner have?
- Training and badge: what must you complete, who provides it, and who confirms you are ready for the field?
- Territory: which team and area would you join, and who confirms the addresses you may work?
- Local rules: which city or county instructions apply to the planned fieldwork, and who confirms any registration or permit steps with that authority?
- Start arrangements: what still has to happen before a start date can be agreed?
This page does not set a universal minimum age, background-check policy or license requirement for every partner and town. Get the actual requirements before making travel or work commitments. A city page or application confirmation does not reserve territory.
Keep these three checkpoints separate
| Checkpoint | What you need to establish |
|---|---|
| Apply | Your background, location and contact information are accurate. |
| Discuss placement | The partner, role, pay terms and required onboarding steps are clear. |
| Before working doors | Your partner has confirmed readiness and assigned work, and you have checked the applicable local steps with the relevant authority. |
