A door-to-door fiber sales rep knocks residential doors in neighborhoods where a carrier sells fiber internet, has a short conversation at each door, and signs up the households that want it. The rep works as a 1099 independent contractor. The IRS's general rule is that a person is an independent contractor when the payer has the right to control or direct only the result of the work, not what will be done and how it will be done; a contractor is self-employed for tax purposes. KnockFiber is a recruiter: it places reps with a partner sales organization, and that organization signs the contractor agreement, issues the badge, runs the product and pitch training (and any ride-along), and pays the rep. KnockFiber is not the employer and not the carrier. Individual results vary and no earnings are guaranteed.
Where the fiber is, from the carriers' own pages, checked October 10, 2026: T-Mobile's fiber availability page lists 386 city and area entries under 26 states, each with its own address check. Frontier's fiber availability page names 26 states on its fiber availability map. Kinetic by Windstream's fiber locations page lists 18 states. Every one of these carriers asks you to check your own address or ZIP code, so a state or city listing is not a promise about any one street. Each city page on this site carries a dated note on that city's market.
