Rockford at a glance

Loves Park and Machesney Park knock fast — modest lots, short walks between doors, and plenty of households ready to hear a better-internet pitch.

Rockford counted 148,655 residents at the 2020 census and about 147,500 by the Census Bureau's Vintage 2024 estimate, on roughly 65 square miles of land. Chicago Rockford International Airport says it has been home to UPS's second-largest North American hub since 1994 and ranks 13th in the nation for air cargo volume, and the Greater Rockford Chamber lists Collins Aerospace, Woodward, Mercyhealth, UW Health and Rockford Public Schools among the region's major employers, with an aerospace network of more than 250 suppliers within 90 minutes. About 60 percent of housing units are detached single-family homes and 54 percent of occupied homes are owner-occupied, but only about 1 percent were built in 2010 or later. For a recruiter, that means established neighborhoods and a labor pool steeped in logistics, aerospace and hospital shift work.

Rockford fiber sales — FAQ

Do I need experience to sell fiber in Rockford?
No experience requirement is set. In Rockford the opening is for team leads and their crews. If you run a door-to-door crew, or have two or more people ready to knock with you, apply as a team. Solo reps: apply anyway — we keep your application and reach out when Rockford opens to solo reps.
How and when do I get paid?
Commission only, paid every two weeks on completed installs. No base. Individual results vary; no earnings are guaranteed.
What areas of Rockford will I cover?
The partner sales organization that places you assigns the addresses you work. This page covers Rockford and nearby areas such as Loves Park, Machesney Park, Belvidere, Cherry Valley, Roscoe, and Rockton. It does not confirm a territory for you.
Is this a job or a 1099 contract?
This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity — you set your own schedule within the partner's market; the partner sales organization provides its brand, scripts and support.
Are there door-to-door fiber sales jobs near me in Rockford?
Yes — for teams. KnockFiber is recruiting door-to-door team leads and crews to sell T-Mobile fiber in Rockford and the surrounding Rockford region area. If you run a door-to-door crew, or have two or more people ready to knock with you, apply as a team. Solo reps: apply anyway — we keep your application and reach out when Rockford opens to solo reps. Commission-only 1099; individual results vary and no earnings are guaranteed.
Is T-Mobile Fiber available in Rockford right now?
Yes, at serviceable addresses. As of September 2026, T-Mobile's availability page lists Rockford, and t-mobile.com publishes a Rockford fiber page with 300 Mbps, 1 Gig and 2 Gig plans, noting service is "not available in all areas." T-Mobile's page names no builder. Inside the city, SiFi Networks launched construction of Rockford FiberCity, an open-access network, in June 2023; in August 2024 SiFi named T-Mobile Fiber the internet provider for its residential service, and in April 2026 it said the network keeps coming online in phases as neighborhoods are finished. ArcLink Fiber has since taken over management of SiFi's projects. Every address is checked individually.
Which towns around Rockford are on T-Mobile's list?
Loves Park, Machesney Park, Roscoe and Rockton, each listed by name as of September 2026 and each with its own T-Mobile fiber page. Metronet has announced builds in all four: it started construction in Loves Park and Machesney Park in May 2024, said Machesney Park homes in its first construction areas could sign up that October, and reported construction underway in Rockton and Roscoe by spring 2025. Metronet has been part of a T-Mobile and KKR joint venture since July 2025. Belvidere and Cherry Valley are not on T-Mobile's list, so addresses there are checked one at a time.
What other fiber is already in Rockford?
AT&T says AT&T Fiber is available in parts of Rockford, and i3 Broadband, an Illinois fiber company, markets fiber service to Rockford homes on its own site, so some doors already have a fiber choice. i3 is a separate company for now: T-Mobile announced in April 2026 a joint venture with Wren House to acquire i3 Broadband and said it expects the deal to close in the second half of 2026, and we found no closing announcement as of September 2026. Until anything changes, reps offer only T-Mobile Fiber at serviceable addresses and compete at the door on the offer, address by address.

Blitz teams

A blitz team travels to whichever market has just opened for door-to-door fiber sales — not necessarily this one — works it intensively for a set window, then moves on. KnockFiber is looking for blitz teams, blitz managers and reps who will travel to work fresh markets.
