TEAMS WANTED In Chicago the opening is for teams: if you run a door-to-door crew, or have two or more people ready to knock with you, apply as a team. Territory isn't guaranteed — it depends partly on where T-Mobile fiber is built. Everyone on the team, you included, is placed on their own commission; team override terms, if any, are set by the partner sales organization. Solo reps: apply anyway — we keep your application and reach out when Chicago opens to solo reps.
FRESH FIBER T-Mobile lists Chicago on its fiber availability page, with a Chicago city page; the build is street by street and availability is per-address. Its Chicagoland builders, Metronet and Lumos, have publicly named suburbs — Woodridge, Naperville, Schaumburg, Wheaton, Bolingbrook — rather than city neighborhoods.
THE FACTS
  • On T-Mobile's own availability page. T-Mobile's fiber availability page lists Chicago (checked September 22, 2026). Availability is per address.

Chicago at a glance

Suburbs like Naperville, Aurora, and Schaumburg pack thousands of walkable doors into tight blocks — high-volume ground for a sharp rep.

Chicago counted 2,746,388 residents at the 2020 census — about 2,699,100 by the Census Bureau's 2024 estimate — on roughly 228 square miles of land, divided into 77 official community areas. The University of Illinois Chicago enrolled a record 35,869 students for fall 2025, Advocate Health Care describes itself as one of Chicagoland's largest employers with 11 hospitals, and O'Hare International Airport anchors the Northwest Side. Only a quarter of housing units are detached houses and 45 percent are owner-occupied, so a rep works two-flats, courtyard buildings and bungalow blocks in the same shift. Nearly 30 percent of residents are Hispanic or Latino, which makes Spanish-speaking reps genuinely useful, and a winter that averages 38 inches of snow shapes when the year's knocking gets done.

  • ✓Commission, paid every 2 weeks on completed installs — no base pay.
  • ✓Bring your crew — in Chicago, the opening is for teams.
  • ✓No experience required. Solar, alarms, pest, or any closing background is a plus — partner sales organizations train new reps.
  • ✓Advancement — partner sales organizations can promote from Rep to Team Leader to Regional; it takes time, and each partner sets its own path.

Chicago fiber sales — FAQ

Can I start selling fiber in Chicago with no experience?
In Chicago the opening is for team leads and their crews, not solo reps, and no experience requirement is set. If you run a door-to-door crew, or have two or more people ready to knock with you, apply as a team. Solo reps: apply anyway — we keep your application and reach out when Chicago opens to solo reps.
How does the pay work?
It's commission only — paid every two weeks on completed installs, with no base. Individual results vary; no earnings are guaranteed.
Which Chicago neighborhoods will I work?
Your addresses come from the partner sales organization you contract with. This page covers Chicago and nearby areas such as Naperville, Aurora, Schaumburg, Joliet, Cicero, and Oak Lawn. It does not confirm a territory for you.
Is this W-2 employment or a 1099 contract?
It's a 1099 independent contractor opportunity, not W-2 employment — you set your own schedule within the partner's market; the partner sales organization provides its brand, scripts and support.
Who's hiring for fiber sales jobs near me in Chicago?
KnockFiber is recruiting door-to-door team leads and crews to sell T-Mobile fiber in Chicago and the surrounding Chicagoland area — in Chicago the opening is for teams. If you run a door-to-door crew, or have two or more people ready to knock with you, apply as a team. Solo reps: apply anyway — we keep your application and reach out when Chicago opens to solo reps. Commission-only 1099; individual results vary and no earnings are guaranteed.
Is T-Mobile Fiber available in Chicago right now?
T-Mobile lists Chicago on its fiber availability page and publishes a Chicago city page with 1 Gig and 2 Gig plan cards, with the standard disclaimer that service is "not available in all areas" and pricing "may vary by verified service address." That means availability is confirmed one address at a time. The fiber is being built by two T-Mobile Fiber partners: Metronet, which suburbs such as Woodridge report began construction in spring 2025, and Lumos, which broke ground in DuPage and Cook counties in September 2025. Turf is assigned where those builds are live.
Which Chicago neighborhoods have the Metronet build?
Honest answer: neither Metronet nor Lumos has publicly named a Chicago city neighborhood. T-Mobile's Illinois list is mostly suburbs — Joliet, Plainfield, Oswego, Romeoville, Downers Grove, Bartlett, Waukegan, Gurnee and about twenty more — and Lumos's September 2025 announcement names Naperville, Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates, Wheaton and Bolingbrook across DuPage and Cook counties, roughly 300,000 addresses. Inside the city limits, treat every street as per-address until the sales org hands you a live turf list. Chicago itself has 77 official community areas, so ask which ones are open before you plan a route.
Does Chicago winter stop the work?
It changes it rather than stops it. The Illinois State Climatologist puts Chicago's normal annual snowfall at 38.4 inches, with 11.3 inches in January alone and the coldest weeks averaging a 32-degree high and a 19-degree low. Reps who work Chicago plan the heaviest door-knocking for spring through fall, shorten winter routes to fewer blocks with more doors per block, and dress for it. Because the region's fiber builds continue through construction season, the streets that open in a given year tend to open between spring and late fall.

Blitz teams

A blitz team travels to whichever market has just opened for door-to-door fiber sales — not necessarily this one — works it intensively for a set window, then moves on. KnockFiber is looking for blitz teams, blitz managers and reps who will travel to work fresh markets.
