What we actually do

A carrier almost never hires door-knockers directly. Door-to-door is run through third-party sales organizations, which recruit, badge, train and pay the reps. KnockFiber sits one layer earlier: we find the reps, screen them, and hand them to the partner that has turf where they live. Every role we recruit for is a 1099 independent-contractor, commission-only position paid on completed installs. There is no base pay, and whether there is a quota depends on the partner. The terms, in plain words

  • What KnockFiber is: an independent recruiting company. One application, and a KnockFiber recruiter matches you to a partner sales organization — a door-to-door sales agency or crew — that has an opening where you are, if one does. Applying guarantees no placement. KnockFiber is not a carrier and not the employer.
  • The work: door-to-door sales of fiber and home internet — T-Mobile Fiber, Greenlight fiber, Buckeye Broadband fiber, Frontier Fiber, Kinetic Fiber, Sparklight fiber, AT&T Fiber, Quantum Fiber and other carriers — in 1284 cities across 39 states, through the partner sales organizations named in the site footer.
  • Pay: 1099 independent contractor, commission only on completed installs, no base. Commission is paid on a set schedule: every two weeks on completed installs, or every Monday, depending on the partner sales organization for your market. Individual results vary and no earnings are guaranteed; KnockFiber publishes no income figures.
  • Chargebacks: whether a cancelled install is charged back, and for how long, is set by the partner sales organization — get it in writing before you start.
  • Travel and housing on a blitz: Some partner organizations cover part of the travel or housing on some blitzes; it varies by trip, and KnockFiber does not set or promise it. Terms are put in writing before you go.
  • Training, scripts, badge and territory: the partner sales organization provides them and assigns your doors. Whether a quota or ride-alongs apply varies by partner.
  • Experience and fees: no experience required and no résumé. No fee: KnockFiber never charges a rep anything.
  • After you apply: a KnockFiber recruiter texts you back to talk through your city, your background and what is open.

Which partner a city routes to is decided by which carrier actually sells on those streets — not by which name is better known. Where no partner has turf on a street, we say so and place you with a crew, in a nearby market or on a blitz, rather than inventing territory.

Who we have a lane for

The company started by recruiting one rep at a time. It now places four different kinds of applicant, and each has its own application, because the questions that matter are not the same:

Applying to any of them is free and commits you to nothing. None of them is a guarantee of placement: whether a seat exists depends on which partner has turf where you are, and sometimes the honest answer is that nobody does yet.

Where the markets come from

From the carrier's own published availability, confirmed address by address in the carrier's own check: a county can hold a town the carrier serves next to one it does not.

Common questions

Is KnockFiber the employer?
No. Every role is a 1099 independent-contractor position with a partner sales organization. The partner badges, trains and pays the rep. Individual results vary and no earnings are guaranteed.
Do you charge reps anything?
No. There is no fee to apply and nothing to buy. We are paid by the partner organizations for the placement, which is why we would rather tell you a market is thin than send you to it.
What if there is no turf where I live?
We still place you. Sometimes the nearest real coverage is a commute away — we name the towns and the rough distance so you can decide — and blitz crews travel to the markets partners open. Some partner organizations cover part of the travel or housing on some blitzes; it varies by trip, and KnockFiber does not set or promise it. Terms are put in writing before you go.
Do I need experience?
